In this episode, Dwayne sits down with Rachel Mintz which incites an exploration into the realms of resilience, ambition, and inspiration. The conversation addresses generational communication gaps influenced largely by digitalization. Furthermore, it pivots to the significance of identifying core values to provide direction and meaningful career decisions. Identifying and considering core values early in life proves crucial in this journey of personal development and effective decision-making.
Rachel Mintz is a 21-year old student, professional Irish dancer and cancer survivor. Following a cancer diagnosis at the age of 18, Rachel faced the challenges of a health crisis head-on, which led her to discover newfound resilience and determination to move forward on her journey through recovery with positivity and purpose.
Currently pursuing a degree in health sciences, Rachel has turned personal hardship into a driving force for academic success. With an unwavering commitment to understanding the intricacies of health and patient-centred medicine, she hopes to dedicate her life to improving the health and well-being of others.
In addition to her pursuits in health sciences, her dedication to dance has been a constant source of passion and purpose throughout her life, providing the forum to put the lessons learned through adversity into action. She has successfully competed at multiple North American Championships, seven World Championships, and most recently performed the lead role in an American production titled ‘Aisling’.
As Rachel continues to navigate the worlds of academia, medicine, and dance, she strives to inspire others to turn setbacks into stepping stones toward a more purposeful future.
